Two-for-Two: Second Federal Court Defense Verdict of the Summer.

Congratulations to Brian Cullen and Stacy Furlotte, who returned to the USDC-NH for a second jury trial this summer and came away with another defense verdict.  The case involved excess force and battery claims against a police officer arising out of the arrest of plaintiff in 2017.  The case was the first excess force case to go to trial in the federal court in the post-George Floyd era.  With a strong presentation, great witnesses, and an attentive jury, the team proved that notwithstanding the appropriately high level of scrutiny police actions receive in today’s climate, juries can distinguish individual cases from the onslaught of media coverage.
